wood tip for sure.. the nylon things just tend to fall off for me. the wood chips but at least you can still use it for a bit after.

also I like the sticking sound with the wood on the cymbals.. the nylon just sounds too unnatural for me

Wood tips most of the time for me, although I do use nylon tips on rare occasions.

I prefer wood tips, but I do use nylon tips also. It just depends on the type of music I'm playing.

I use wood tips always, in fact I always use the same kind of sticks no matter what I'm playing.

I prefer the response from wood tips, and the sound of quality wood hitting quality metal is a beautiful thing.

I'm using both but I really prefer the feel, the weight and sound of wood tips.

I prefer nylon tips. I'm kind of the drummer/sound engineer/mixer/producer for the band so I can't afford to be replacing sticks every time I get a chip in the tip, let alone the head because I've dented it.

The tips used to fall off my 7A's but I'd just glue them back on with some All Clear and never worry again. I haven't had that problem with 747s, touch wood.

I quite like it when the tip chips slightly, like a tiny bit will fall out of one side. Makes things interesting when playing ridiculously quietly - you can get a soft, damp response from the ride by striking with the chipped part, then a nice focused ping simply by rotating the stick really gently. I like to mess around with that sort of thing, and it's interesting because there's no way of telling when it's going to happen. Unless you start with a chipped stick (which I often do) or make a custom tip with some sandpaper.

(That's my idea for a stick design..... don't think it'll catch on but it's another thing I should copyright straight away, along with salt and pepper flavoured cutlery.)
