New head opinion

I am currently using Evans G2 coated heads all around on toms, and Evans ST dry on my snare, and its about that time to get all new heads. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next, I love deep, warm toms.

Mandy

I believe the G2 coated adds more warmth than the clear, but check out their website. They've got a table that helps you pick skins based on sound preferance.

My only answer is Aquarian Satin finish texture coated for your toms and snare or you can always try the Studio-X coated on the snare batter

I also use G2 coated heads on my drums. I don't plan on changing brands any time soon.

I stared using the aquarians on my toms with a remo ebany head on the bottom with no muffling and I get a great deep sound out of them.
I am not real sure which aquarians that I am using though sorry for that lack of info. but I was doing the same thing with the remo pinstripes and was getting a good deep sound out of them as well. one of the key things is to get a deeper bottom head on there like a 2 ply and it will help in achiving that deeper sound.

yes I admit that my heads are "crappy" on my "new" set up relly I have satin, Attac, remo ambassator, and a couple of evans g1's too, witch i relly gotta change to my fav heads, pinstripe clear, they might be the sound ur looking for... or try ebony(pinstripe),there great(they might be a more consintrated sond then wht your looking for) but there relly expencive(I think $2 [] inch) well try remo pinstripe clears.

I'm really digging on the Evans EC2 clears. Very warm tone, and yes there is tone, not like the hydraulics. I'm using EC2's on top and G1's on bottom. Sounds "just right" to me. Sounds deep and warm, just like you like it.

I love the G2 coated top heads. Black Evans resonant on the floor toms give them a real deep, rich tone. G1's on the rack bottoms and an aquarian superkick II on the bass. couldn't be happier.
