Fiberskyns Has anyone here put Remo Fiberskyns on their drums before? I heard that they have a lot of overtones but I'm not sure how they would sound. |

| | | I'll order the 22" diplomat fiberskyn for my bass drum reso in a near future. They look great, classy and sexy as hell. I had feedback that they sound good and make nice reso combo with Superkick. |

To the best of my knowledge, they're thicker than the single-ply heads, but not as thick or as muffled as a two-ply head, making them very well-suited for jazz and orchestral work. They're designed to imitate the "warmer" sound of calfskin heads. Nothing sounds quite like calfskin, but they (Fiberskyns) do get into the ballpark, so to speak. |

I have one on one of my snare and man ! These heads sound amazing really 60s big band era but they are thinner than fiberskyn. |

I hesitate to draw conclusions based on such a limited exposure, but going on that one drum set, the Aquarians struck me as being closer in feel and sound to actual calfskin heads. |

Just spent 15$ and buy yourself one for one of your snare and you'll be able to draw your own conclusion. Moreover they are very sensitive with brushes work, you hear the snare wire like if they was right in you ears... I wanted the thin one but none was available at the shop though, I bought the medium one and glad I got this one, I can't imagine how thin the thin one is
Believe me, it's 15$ for good investment |

I've got two drums I want to try it on - one is a fibreglass drum I've got set up for orchestral work, and the other is an old Wurlitzer brass six-lug snare drum, with a shell that isn't undersized the way modern drums are, so I want to try the slightly oversized "American Vintage" head on it. |
