2 ply resos

Anyone use a 2 ply on the resonant side? I have extra Evans G2s and I'm thinkiing about putting themo n the reso heads. Anyone do this before? How did it sound

I think having something like a 2 ply would defeat the purpose of the reso head.. the purpose is for the drum to resonate and if it's too thick it'll just absorb the sound. but try it and see what happens and let us know

ive seen it done before but I wouldnt actually do it myself.. well 2ply would still be better than some pinstripes on the resos which i have also seen and heard

Bad Idea, you'll kill most of your tone, volume, resonance, and ring. But if you like deadend drums go for it.
