What do you beat your bass with?

I'm off to buy a new pair of beaters for my Darla tomorrow and it prompted me to ask the question, what sort of beaters are you guys using?

Plastic, wood, felt, kangaroo scrotum, what do you use and why?

I'm currently using two all wood beaters. They are just like the standard felt but made of wood. They are still going strong after about three years, but lately I'm finding them to be too heavy. Plus I recently found some cheap Pearl beaters that are plastic and felt for only $20.

I've stuck to wood for so long for the extra attack and will probably use the plastic side of these beaters mainly, but it will be nice to have some variety.

So come on, spill it!!

I've got a felt beater. I use it cause it came with the set and haven't been able to get a plastic one. I really need a new pedal. The one I've got is killing me when I do faster doubles.

I just got a new pearl eliminator(its awesome) and the beaters on it have four different things, I use the plastic flat side, it gives a good hard thud, and feels really good.

Yeah I just got the eliminator power shifter, double pedals. The quad beater is one of the best ideas I've ever seen; I use the rounded plastic side.

Question

I currently have the quadbeaters too. I've got the eliminators with the belts, super quiet. I'm shopping now for something different. I'm looking at the Axis sonic hammers as an option. I like my quadbeaters, (though I've worn the felts flat on both sides after 4 years, lol) but I've looked around and alot of people seem to think their on the heavy side. I'm looking for something to possibly give my old ass a little speed edge

I use the felt ones that came with my iron cobra, but I have been looking at Slug percussion beaters. And I am going to get the DW 9002 if it kills me.

I guess it most depends on the sound you r looking for.I don't much prefer the clicky sound so I like the felt tipped ones that tama sells for the iron cobra.
