drum heads for a pearl forum

I've had a pearl forum for a couple years now and its about time for me to get some new heads. I've played long enough to be more then a beginner, im probably in the intermediate range. I played an aquarian head on a snare in a drum shop and i really liked it, but other then that im not sure what to get for the toms. I want clear heads, and i want them to have a really defined sound. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Clear and defined screams evans G2 to me. I've got them on my export and I'm deeply in love with them.

Check out the evans site and you'll find a table that can help you choose your heads, also pick drummers sounds that you like and find out what they play, that's what led me to Evans G2.

nah just go pinstripes all round that will improve the situation without the guesswork. Evans HD dry on top snare. Thinish heads like remo ambassadore batters will do the trick. maybe an EQ# on the front bass but it's overkill. Get a factory pearl front head on the kick with a factory hole in the head say 15cm diameter. When replacing the head ensure you lube all the lugs with Vaseline.

replace your snare wire

Why not save your 250 bucks use tape and put it towards a quality drumset.

If you don't like it I will give you your money back! But you gotta send me the heads!!!!

Yeah, I used to subscribe to pinstripes, but after a month they lose all their tone and sound like your beating a matress.

The problem with Pearl Forum is they are crap shells. No offence intended to owners of pearl forum of which I am one. After spending so much money on gear, for cheap kits pinstripes are long lasting and solid. Unlike the pearl forum.

so put G2 Evans on which are a really nice head... for real drums..... and experience tuning issues and dissatisfaction or got the tried proven and trusted method for cheap drumsets where you can abuse the ultimate out of them and pinstripe the kit....
