I found that they don't give enough bounce back and they have less natural grip than a wood stick. I broke a stick every 6 months and I don't even do rim shots. Everyone's different but you'll definately need grip tape. Get tennis grip not promark! It's exactly the same product but the wilson grip will do 12 sticks for less than half the price. I put a post in the forum about stick choice covering my choices since I began. Might be worth a look as I'm a hard rocker too.

well personally i think that their great sticks! ive never used any signature models befor but i have purchaced the 5B size, and i thoguht they were awesome, great response on the drum head, the only ****tyt hing was i broke both sticks after a couple months haha

and also, BUY AHEAD STICK GRIP TAPE!absolutely amazing, didnt turn all ****ty, held up great! and if your hands are sweatly or w.e they wont slip what so ever, they absorb moisture
