Smile AHEAD sticks

I got the joey jordison ahead sticks because they dont break like wood sticks and i heard that they crack cymbals a lot quicker. on the other hand ive heard that if u have pro grade stuff they wont. i just got new sabian AAXs and i dont want to break them already, so if anyone has any tips about these sticks thatd b really helpful.

I used to play with ahead sticks. I didn't crack too many cymbals but they won't make rim shots, the sleaves need replacing a lot, the tips have a tendancy to strip and fall off causing you to need more, they don't give as much bounce back as wood which increases strain to your hands and you still need to replace them about once a year. Oh, and they have less natural grip than wood.

You may need to play with these sticks anyway to satisfy your curiosity, but I personally found them to be just as expensive and more annoying.

Good luck, let us know how you go.

Thanx for the info. I ended up getting them as a gift so at least it wasnt my own money but yeah i c what u mean by the bad bounce and bad grip. I'll probably just use them in practice or when i wanna do really fast stuff but other than that ill use good ol' wood sticks
