Vater Steward Copeland drumsticks

Usually I play with 5A drumsticks but I picked up a pair of Vater Stward Copeland signature sticks and I must say that I'm pretty impressed. The balance is just amazing - they're thick and longer than the 5A's but they feel lighter and not as top heavy. Awesome sticks! Does anyone else have experience with these?

The only problem I has was that the wooden tips split off already after 2 weeks of play and now one of my sticks has 2 flat sides on the tip. Nylon tips would probaly be better but I'm not sure if it comes in them...

What is the length and diameter, and tip shape of these?
I use the longer Vater power 5 A's and 1A's as it gives me more reach and power and i like the balance point back some (just me), and also the Zildjian JR Robinson Jazzer model which are 16 5/8 x .595 ball tip.

Nylon heads will last forever unless you use them for stirring porridge.
The wood tips falling to pieces may be due to your playing technique? Slow down your motions and watch how and where you strike things, they should last for some time. I find Vater sticks good quality.
Are the sticks Hickory? I find hickory the most durable.

Ahhhhhhh, follow the link above for info and reviews of the stick, they look o.k, ball heads are bright and fast around the kit.Similar to the Jazzer but shorter and thinner.

"Voted Number One Drumstick in 2002 by the readers of Drum! magazine.

Stewart's stick features a rounded oval-style bead that provides crisp, clear, articulate tones on cymbals and full-bodied tones from drums. Superb balance and rebound make this a great feeling stick. Hickory. 16" long; .555" diameter. "
