Larger does not always mean better with chinas. The best one I had was a 18" Oriental. Are your sticks lasting any longer?I chew up sticks bad and the only solution does seem to come from adjusting my cymbals so they are not so flat.Angles of hardware and your grip are the 2 biggest factors in stick wear.

Yea, they're wearing less, especially being I flipped my china Thinner sticks than the rocks I had too and they've lasted about the same amount of time so far and still decent. It looks like one'll begin to shatter a bt perty soon so iono, but definately worth it and are seeming to last longer. Heads haven't dented from them afaik either so there's another plus.

Hey I like to hit hard like the next guy but you gotta draw the line somewhere. If the blokes in your band are too loud, tell them to turn the f down.Or better yet,get triggers and a pa and show them what its like. Triggers could be the solution you are looking for. What type of music are you doing?

Yea, I'm not playing with anyone yet. That was my plan when I got the new set(which is what I'm on now ). I'm askin around for some peoples to jam and all, but friends of mine that play are either in a group or can't cause their grades are bad. sucks cause mine are good and I have to much free time for music lol. But when I do get a group I wanna do stuff like Killswitch Engage, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alexisonfire etc... just cool sounding stuff..IMO.

Re: New sticks, desperately

They are definitely a quality brand and lots of folks here use them (search "promark" and lots of threads come up). I use Headhunters but they might only be available in Canada.

My suggestion, if you have the cash, is to get a few pairs of different brands all about the same size you think you like and then compare how they feel on the kit. I was amazed when I did that. I tried some oak ones, some Vater ones etc. and every pair, except for the Headhunters, felt like big chunks of wood -- no balance, no flex, no feel.
