Worried..

I have just bought some new skins for my snare.

Evans GHD Dry for the batter side and a hazy 300 for the snare side.

Please tell me that wasn't a mistake?...lol!

Well, a lot of the guys around here would swear by the genera dry and pretty much every big name drummer on evans plays the hazy. Sounds like you bought well. I'm thinking of getting the same two things next time I purchase.

Great heads, do you have problems with them ? Cheap enough to change the batter if it doesn't suit your drum or sound after trying all tunings out. Resonant should do anything.

Really pleased...the heads came the other day. Sound much better than my last ones. HOWEVER i followed a tuning bible on the internet as to how to tune the snare, but im still not getting that really crisp CRACK from it wen i play it, instead the snares just rattle a little longer than i want, ive tightened them...any suggestions?

Snare is a tricky one. I keep my reso nice and low and my batter real tight. I used to have trouble until I bought a new di-cast hoop for the batter. Now she cracks like a plumber.

You might wanna check yours for warps.
