pearl reytherm traveller

i got a pearl rythem traveller ste due to limited space and i wanted to replace the heads on the tombs. The toms are "concert" tombs (one sided). I am considering remo ambassidors, will it give the same sound with these toms as the descreiption would suggest

I think the heads would react the same, but , if I'm not mistaken, all the drums on that set are the same size which would prove difficult to tune like a normal set.

If I were you I'd keep the mesh heads on it and just use it for practice. Get a cheap electric kit for quiet drumming.

I remebered seeing one of these sets in a store, and I verified it on line, the drums are different diameters, and the set originally shipped with two sets of heads: the mesh heads for silent practice, and a set of regular heads for playing out in small venues. I would guess you should be able to put standard heads on and it will sound OK. Drums with only batter heads were popular back in the 70s for a little while, I guess some people liked the sound.

Yea the snare was a standard snare with resonant head, and snare wires. From what I've read most of the drum are constructed so the nest into each other to take up less space for transporting. Thats why only batter heads on the Toms.
