Depends on how long you can wait, IMHO. I, too, am very budget conscious.

I got a used DW 5002 chain-drive double pedal (list $359) with carrying case (not the plastic one, but a DW fabric one with a solid lining) on eBay, and turned around and sold my old Pearl Eliminator double pedal on eBay. All told, I spent less than $100 total to get a like-new DW, and the pedal is just as good as any of the new ones in the store. Just buy one that's in good shape (the onus is on you, the buyer, to do your homework!) and take good care of it.

DW 7000, if you find it in your price. I have the Yamaha 9 thousand something and I like it, but the one I liked the most was the DW 9000, wow nice pedal. Never tried the real expensive ones because I don't want to know............

Are what $300? The Yamaha, or the DW? I got my slave side for $45 on ebay in barely used conditon. The left for $65 from Guitar Center as a leftover opened box. I had the drive shaft from another. The DW 7000 I have seen on ebay for under $300. for both sides and shaft complete in very good shape.

As far as the real expensive, I meant the Axis long etc.

I meant 9000s, If i wasn't as adament as I am (matching my hi-hat stand to the pedals) I probably would buy the I.C. power glides(great reviews)!
