Re: whats the best double bass pedal i can buy under 300 bucks?

So, I bought the cheap Pacific double pedal for $180.00 like 6 years ago. I never have been way into to double bass rudiments just because of the style of music I play, but lately I have been doing more with the double bass. The pedal has held up for a long time which would indicate that it is built with some quality. I lately have noticed that it kind of lags me down as I have been doing more with it, but I must tip my hat to PDP, they made a decent product for a very decent price.

As usual almost all recomendations are to show at the big box retailers and the same few brands come up over and over again. Look at some alternatives you might be surprised what you can get. Mapex yes Mapex has a very nice mid-range priced pedal and Cannon percussion has very well built very nice double kick pedal in the mid $200's right where you wanna be. check those out. It's ok not to play a DW or Peal Or Iron Cobra especially starting out.--- T

I think you're talking about the same pedal I own! Ha

When I could use it, I used it a lot and it still holds up pretty good(:

PDP makes nice pedals.

Thumbs up Re: whats the best double bass pedal i can buy under 300 bucks?

In my opinion the pearl eliminators are probably your best bet. They are so customizable with the 4 cams that you can switch out and not to mention that u can slide back or forward the plate for the heel toe technique. Another cool feature you have with these pedals is that you can adjustthe height ofthe plate. Hope this helped and btw this was posted with my iPod so sorry If there is any errors in spelling.

The DW 3002's are actually really nice.
Same with the low end Pearl one.
I also highly recommend Tama Iron Cobra Jr's, they're awesome and can be fitted with the cobra coil. You just have to buy it seperatley.

I broke a couple of Gibraltar pedals in my teens.
The IC Jr double I play now is 10 years old, and I have not replaced a part on it yet.
I am not easy on it either.
It's slow and squeaky to me now.
My back-ordered Dominators can't get here soon enough.
