Sound Dampeners

Well, after receiving a noise complaint from a neighbor (despite the fact that I play within the time limits in my area), my local council is making me get dampeners for my drumkit. I however have no idea what company to look at, or what my options are at all, so if someone could give me some direction in this matter, I would appreciate it a lot. Quick replies would be super sweet as I can't play til I get the dampeners.

Thank you in advance!

If you mean something like these...
Musician's Friend
well they perty much make your set an electronic one...atleast the sound one make s when you hit a pad I have some, used em' when I got them but then...well I disliked them because bounce was completely different. Your stick would basically go dead once you hit so yea, I don't use em' anymore.

Re: Sound Dampeners

I had the same problem Zand, but I told them to kiss my @$$. Lucky for me they did not want to change the time limits. I some what sound proffed my playing room or (Band Room) and it did not cost me a bunch of money, and the kit sounds great also. This way I was able to tell them that I was doing things to solve the problem. Just an idea. Hope all works out for you.

I had the same problem with the pads, I don't like the lack of rebound. So I went back to playing without them. fortunately I only bother the wife, and she'll put up with it. Sound proofing the playing area might be a better option for you.
