Post Any input on Vex pro tour double drum pedal

Hi I was wondering if anyone had any experience or knew anyone who has purchased or used the vex double pedal. $99 just seems to good to be true. Any info will be a great help. Thank you

Re: Any input on Vex pro tour double drum pedal

Just bought one off of ebay. First of all, I'm not a double bass player (never played it before now). Secondly I just started playing drums a few months ago, though I think I'm not bad ( :-0 ). Besides that I'd say its a good pedal. If you're REALLY serious about playing double bass I'd say save up you're money and get a better one. If you want to LEARN double bass/have a practice pedal for home, get this one. But I'm sure there are some people who prefer this pedal to more expensive ones.

Also, I don't think the pedal is faulty, however I need to make some adjustments; but I played it anyway w/o fine-tuning it. One problem is that it didn't come with instructions and vexdrums.com or whatever doesn't offer any instruction guides for setup/troubleshooting. I e-mailed them a day ago, I think, but they haven't gotten back to me yet.

Hope that helps

Re: Any input on Vex pro tour double drum pedal

Yeah, they still haven't sent me a response; I'm not really surprised. Now that I've had a few days to tinker with the pedal (may be a little early to say, but oh well), I don't like the adjustability so far. I want to get the beaters even with each other and I want the pedals to be close to even depth. Also after playing around with the adjusters (by playing around I mean taking it all apart and putting it back together) I still couldn't get the left beater even to the right OR to extend as far as the right beater. This bothers me because it seems like I can't get the power out of the left stroke like the right.

Anyway, all said and done, I'm not thrilled with my purchase. My previous post stands, except for when I said it is a good pedal. I take that back; but I'd say its good for practice, I think.

So in other words, whatever high praises, boasts the company makes, and ratings this pedal receives from popular magazines or quotes from rockstars, I'd say these are too good to be true.

I just received my Vex Double Pedal, $99 including shipping. Quite frankly, it is THE BEST value on the market, bar none. It is fully adjustable, fast, and very substantial.
I have read some negative comments and short of there being something broken when it arrives, you just cannot do better for this price.
Signed,

There are decent for the price. I have been playing on mine for about 1.5 years with no problems...and I play everyday for about an hour. I have had to make some adjustments, which isn't hard if you are mechanically inclined at all. They work great!
