Re: Any tips on securing second bass pedal?

I thought of another couple things you can try.

Find an auto store or something like that which has the anti-slip pads... If they get dirty just wash em with some mild soap.... nothing sticky to clean up, and they are resistant to mold.

If you want something bigger... bath tub mats may get you there too.

I was looking at your first post on this, again...
I am just wondering if the spikes were not out does the pedal rest on just the velcro or is there rubber stoppers on the bottom? You didn't mention testing it out with the spikes retracted so I have to ask

Get a rug...put a dehumidifier in your basement...yea. Use a thinner rug though and not some shag rug lol.

very true... I've tried both ways. I think if I remove the velcro it will be better,a ctually. It doesn't have anything made out of rubber on the bottom of it. It sets directly on the velcro.

I think you know what I was getting at here... but maybe test a few rubber pieces that will provide you enough friction on concrete to prevent slipping. I can see where just having spikes or just the velcro would be a big problem.

Re: Any tips on securing second bass pedal?

Make a mat out of Auto carpeting (boot liner) to fit under the whole kit. The stuff is synthetic and does'nt mould. You should not have your kit in a mouldy atmosphere anyway.

I suggest if you want a temporary or permanent solution for your practice area is to dynabolt into the concrete a piece of angle iron or bent alloy or such as a stop to keep the pedal from moving forward.
If you drill the hole deep enough, when you decide you don't need a bolt through the floor, you can then tap it into the ground.
