Re: Drumsticks poll

I don't know much about vaters. I've always used Pro-marks.

Re: Drumsticks poll

yea, it's a change going from pro marks to vaters cause they are shorter, but I'm actually happy I did. pro marks always splintered on me and vaters don't. Mostly just dent. I will say when they break they'll just break though lol, but it usually takes a while....bout the same as pro marks to break for me. I'd recommend trying a pair. If you don't like em o well.

Re: Drumsticks poll

I've had them splinter on me too (pro-mark). That and warp on me before as well (for whatever reason or the other). Like I said earlier though, I never used vaters before. In fact, I've never used vic firth or zildjian sticks either. I've always used pro-marks. No particular reason. When I first started out playing I used pro-marks and have been using them ever since. Originally, I played on the 5A's for the longest time until a few years ago, I switched to the 747's. I'm a bit more comfortable playing with those. Anyhow, a friend of mine uses zildjian sticks and I have thought about trying those out to see how they feel and play? Maybe I'll give the vaters a shot too? But I guess it's one's personal preference like everything else really. And like you said, "If you don't like em o well."

Re: Drumsticks poll

yea, I tried dips once...liked em/didn't mind em to much until I think on of em cracked in half on me within a coupel days. Dunno if it was just a bad stick cause a friend used to use em and liked em but has moved on. I think I'll be on vaters for a while though. I don't like vics either lol, their tips chip on me. And I've had a pro mark warp on me to. granted it was in my back pack in my car when it was 70-80+ outside though which I'm assuming didn't help much but it still did, still used it for band, worked fine.
but yea, go out and try some different sticks. it'll take a little time to get used to em...but you know it's a decent stick if it doesn't break on you before you're used to it lol.
plus vaters are made in cali :P
