Remote and more adjustable hi-hat stands

So now that I've added a double pedal to my kit I cannot stand where my hats are. The pedal is ok, but I really hat the cymbal location. I can play cross armed, and was doing this when I first started, but after moving my drums around I really liked playing in front of my left hand. With the double pedal I can do this if I want to use the foot pedal on the hats.

My hardware is pretty cheap as it is, and the next thing I plan on upgrading is either the stand or a throne with a backrest

Any thoughts on these?

Ultra Adjust Hi-Hat Stand with Movable Leg Base

Its 199 and not sure I trust the brand, for $70 more you can get this, which in the long run, isn't much more.

DW 9000 Series Remote Hi-Hat And theres a pearl one thats like 20 cheaper than that.

Any thoughts on any of these?

Re: Remote and more adjustable hi-hat stands

I have heard that with remote hi-hats you can run into lag issues. I'd be sure to actually try both the adjustable stand and the DW remote to check for something like that before you spend the money on either one to find out that it just messes you up. Let me know what you find out with the lag for both products.

Did you eventually make a purchase Tommatt? I'll eventually be in the market for a remote hi-hat stand because I want my hi-hat dead centre behind the snare. I didn't know they have lag problems. I couldn't stand that (pardon the pun). I'd be interested in an update.

No I have not. Finally bought a house and just started moving in. All my money is going into this for the time being till I get everything repaired/like I want it.

On the bright side I'll be able to start getting lessons again soon.

Re: Remote and more adjustable hi-hat stands

Congratulations on the house purchase! Do you have enough money/space to make a soundproof drum room? That's one of my goals. Drums sound so good in a studio and I like playing loud without havng to worry about neighbours' reactions. Luckily my family doesn't mind noise, but one neighbour does!
