What resonant heads go best with Remo black suede batter heads?

I just bought the black suede emperors for my toms, the powerstroke for my bass and the black X for my snare. I still have the stock resonant heads on my TAMA but want to change them to a black resonant head if possible, Any ideas? thanx, Brandon

Evans

This being a 2 ply head with oil will cut out some highs.. but you will have enchanced lows with pretty solid lows... basically a nice deep thud with little overtones. I wouldn't prefer this set up for jazzy type music... but it would go nicely for rock, metal, pop, etc...

Some people think that putting 2 ply heads on the resonant side kills the drum. I happen to think otherwise. With home recording it helps keep the sound focused. Live sounds great as well.

I would tend to agree. The two ply heads are great for narrowing in on the deep, focused sounds that a bass drum has to offer.
