Evans Genera Dry Batter Snare Head - Too much punch!

Just got this for my drummer, this thing has got way too much punch. Almost tom like. We need a more dry and crisp tone, and would like to get it from this one, since we just bought it.
Here's the head:
Evans Genera Dry Batter Snare Head and more Drum Heads at GuitarCenter.com.

Any ideas on how to achieve this?

I would suggest tuning the batter and the reso head up a lot more if its less punch that you're after. This head doesn't have a reputaion for that sound, so you might be in luck yet.

Consult this site Drum Tuning Bible if you need more tuning advice.

I have this head and it sounds great for me. Try cranking it up a bit mine is at a fairly high tension. good luck
