Dw 5000s are just as good, and so are 7000, why spend more then you need?

My personal favorite is the Tama Iron Cobra, I reckon it is the best bang for the buck, and beautifully constructed.

Cheers and happy drumming,

Harry

I currently have a pdp 602c double pedal... I have reached it's speed limitiation.
Pedals generally do not have a speed limitation - At least not one that we can reach as players. - Its a user limitation every single time.

That being said, durability on cheaper pedals and their free-movement DO come into question.

My advice is not to get the very basic pedals. Even with full warranty, they are more hassle than they are worth.

If you can afford it, the Tama HP200 pedals are a good balance between price and durability.

Re: what double bass pedal is good?

Buy used on Ebay. You can get some killer deals:
Pearl Eliminators- (I use Strap Drive) Love them
Tama I.C.'s- owned them, great, great pedal. Would buy them again.
DW 5000. Good pedal, not a favorite of mine. Don't like 9000's.
Axis LB. Great pedal, very fast, But I nsold them as I liked My Eliminators beter. If your a extreme metal drummer, theyt're probably the ticket.

=Gilbralter makes a good pedal also from what I understand.

Figure $300.00 If you do better, great. But, buy quality, it does make a difference =as far as smoothness, adjustments, durability and speed with out bquestion.

I recently Bought a Gibraltar 6611DB Heavy Duty Double Bass Drum Pedal, this was my first double bass pedal and i got to say for a cheap bass pedal, it works great. If you are into metal i recommend this.

Hands down, the DW 9002 if you've got the money for them. I've only been playing for 50 years, so what do I know. My son has been playing them for 4 years. He loves them.

Re: what double bass pedal is good?

I have an Iron Cobra Power Glide double and love it. I was considering selling it and going for a DW9002 double.

Tainojim, have you played ICs? How to they compare to the DWs in your opinion?
