Re: what double bass pedal is good?

The cheaper you go in pedal the quicker you will reach a plateau on speed and durability of the
pedal. There are many varied opinions on the high grade pedals... but I think that boils down
to many variables such as play style, body size, etc...

Think about it this way... if you buy the pedal and hope it lasts say five years...
then it breaks and you buy a new cheap pedal.
Don't you think you might be better off investing in a better grade pedal?

My advice is to find a shop that will let you test drive the pedals. See which one
you like and then go from there. Shoot some places offer specials were you pay no
interest for a year...

Re: what double bass pedal is good?

I currently have a pdp 602c double pedal... I have reached it's speed limitiation.
what I mean is that the faster you get the harder it is to sustain it with these pedals.
Speed comes from foot technique and not the pedal though. However the pedal does
impact the ability to play...

There are three types of pedals...
1. single and double chain
2. strap or belt
3. and direct drive.

The top names I hear for pedals are Tama Iron Cobra, Pearl Power Shifter , and Axis. The
price is reflected in it though.

You can find a good pedal in Yamaha, Pearl, Gibraltar, Axis, PDP, etc....

Go to this site and read the reviews...
That is the best thing you can do... but read them with a grain of salt.... People tend to be
more likely to post something negative than positive.

DW makes really good pedals. alot of pros use the DW 9000. theyre pretty expensive, but worth it i'd say.
