Smile 5 A's or 7A's?

I am an avid user of vic firth 5a Hickory's.... However they break so quickly, is there a major difference between 5 a's and 7 a's?

7a's are even lighter weight sticks so if your looking for something more durable that would not be the answer. Either look at something heavier or an alternate material such as ahead's aluminum sticks.

How are they breaking?
If they are splitting down the middle while they are relatively new, it could be your grip.

Yeah I used to play with 7A's but the tips kept snapping off. I can recomend the pro-mark 747 rock's if you like a light stick. I was using them for ages and had no breaking issues. I only changed to 2B's recently to get more punch out of my tubs.

try a 2b, 5b, or 747's are great like slapper recommended above. vater 5a's are my favorite sticks right now and I don't think I'll be changing anytime soon
