Isolation Headphones

I'm looking into buying some isolation headphones and was wondering what was the best out there for under $100. I want something that also can be used with an ipod with minimal noise seepage as I will use them for recording too. Any ideas?

Re: Isolation Headphones

I'm unaware of any for under $100.

Shure makes some great in-ear phones, and you can get them custom fit to your ears for better isolation. BUT they are expensive. I've seen in-ear isolation for up to $600...

Re: Isolation Headphones

hello i would highly suggest getting the Vic Firth SIH1 isolation headphones. They are great b/c they allow to directly plug your ipod into the headphones and adjust the level of your music. They allow very minimal amount of sound in and many recording drummers use these. They can be a bit pricy but if you want something a little less expensive, go for the vic firth db 22 isolation head phones. I use them a lot . They are also very good except the only downside is they dont allow you to directly plug your ipod into the headphones. Let me know if you have any questions

Re: Isolation Headphones

Hello,

I am looking in to buying isolation earphones myself-- I'm thinking about buying a pair called Shure SE102MPA Sound-Isolating Mobile Headset, which is just under $100 (and with tax and shipping costs, over). What do some experienced "Shure" users think about my pick?-- or even just experienced isolation headphones users think in general. I intend to use these ear plugs for studio drumming sometime in the near future. How do they compare to the pricier ones, as I believe were mentioned earlier on?

Any help would be much appreciated,

-JK

I never used Noise Canceling head phones.
But I got a pair recently.
They are Sony's, but I don't know the exact name.
They cancel 87.4% of noise I believe.
Very nice headphones. They go for $50 on MF.

Re: Isolation Headphones

this is pretty ghetto, but i have a pair of skull candys (awesome in ear headphones, if you dunno what they are) and then i put a pair of shooting headphones over them, like that you use when you shoot a gun to avoid ear damage.

all in all its about 30 bucks: 15-20 for the skull candies, and 10 or so for the shooting headphones.
not the most professional isolation headphones, but they work well enough for me.

Re: Isolation Headphones

The in ear buds can cause more damage to your hearing.

Bose has just released the QC-15 this month. Same price as the QC-2.
