Advice on bass drum head

Advice/opinion on the Evans EMad 2 drum head. I've used the Aquarian super kick II and love this drum head. I've thought about the Evans EMad 2 for another bass drum that I have. The biggest issue that I read in the ratings is that after a period of time the plastic ring that contains the damping ring tears and the head becomes useless. Is this a fact of heavy hitters or something that will happen over time regardless of the type of player that you are?

Thumbs up Re: Advice on bass drum head

If you love the aquarian stick with it. Don't change for changes sake.

The EMAD is indeed my favorite, but the Superkick sounds great also. If it aint broke, don't fix it.
