Re: Bass Drum Converter Kits

Hey guys. This is all wonderful but you know what? I've been playing for decades and I haven't got the slightest idea of what a Bass Drum Conversion kit is. Perhaps it is known as something different here in OZ. Can someone please explain. Cheers.

Re: Bass Drum Converter Kits

It converts a floor tom into a bass drum.

Here is a link to the Trick coverter:

Looks well built to me. This is a case of personal preference it seems. They all do the same thing and vary widely in price, so it comes down to the drummer spending the cash I guess.

Re: Bass Drum Converter Kits

Floor tom converter kits convert a floor tom into a bass drum for a Club/jazz setup if you want to reduce the size of your kit for a particular venue/scenario.

The Gibraltar seems to be the best one that I've found, mostly because it includes an accessory to mount a rack tom on the converted floor tom, just like a 4-piece kit eliminating the need for a separate stand, which is the point of the conversion kit in the first place: to make the kit smaller... The spurs also look very industrial.
