And it's black. | was it always in black?
The main Pdp rack is a three part one, can be put up faster then some Gibraltar, comes with about 5 clamps, and 2 boom arms! |

Re: Advantages of drum racks Pretty sure it was. I've seen drummers from the 80's with black ones. |

Re: Advantages of drum racks It really depends. In my experience, it's more of a personal thing. I prefer stands, but racks have several advantages also. |

Unless your drums are for rack mounting, it's not worth getting into a rack system. You will have to alter them.
As for Gus, they do make rack bags for them. I've got two rack bags for mine. Gibraltar also makes stands, their quite rugged.
Just for research, here is the link: Gibraltar Rack Factory

The band Suffocate' drummer used a pearl rack that folds into three. |

Re: Advantages of drum racks RYDER 904,
Have you tried running tethers from your cymbal stands to your throne to prevent sliding?
Could you drive a couple of nails into the floor immediately behind the center of the cymbal stands to keep them from moving?

Re: Advantages of drum racks What all of these guys are saying is true, good and bad. The only thing i have to say is that I dont like Gibraltar racks because the rack is sphereical. I prefer the Icon rack because its cubical? haha and theres no chance of the clamps slipping. |

Re: Advantages of drum racks The rack system is for those drummers who need alot of accesseries that's why I have one. Playing a db and figuring where to put all your toms and cymbals and other stuff I needed one. Actually it came with the Sonors I won in a contest..........lol Gibralter makes all kinds of racks for whatever you need. I priced the rack that I have and it list at $699.00 I think can't remember........lol tearing down and setting up is a breeze cause the memory locks I put on there helps me know where things go and only have to adjust and tweak a few things. I'm getting ready to add to my rack due to expansion of my kit. Bigger is better........lol for some of us. Get one and you'll see the difference in the look and you might play better as well because you can position everything just the way you want it. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
