Re: Axis Longboard Double Bass Pedal I have not owned a pair of Axis longboards, but guys that I know have and have not been happy with them in general.
One of them broke a pedal because he is a hard kicker, he says they don't hit very hard so you have to hammer them harder to get volume from the bass drum. Two others have said the same thing, no power behind the stroke so no volume, but have not broken a pedal yet. |

Re: Axis Longboard Double Bass Pedal If you are interested in a longboard type pedal and the price of the Axis doesn't scare you, you might want to consider the Pearl Demon Drive. It converts between duo deck and longboard so if you decide you hate longboards you are not stuck with a pedal you hate.
Here is a link: Pearl Drum - Demon Drive
You have very fast feet so you should benefit from the driect drive also. The pedal will keep up with your speed. I recommend checking one out in person to see if you like it before buying it. |

Re: Axis Longboard Double Bass Pedal No, i would not buy them, they aren't the best on the market. But, if you're looking for a good pedal in that price range, buy a trick pedal. Check ebay for drum pedals. I bought my single axis longboard pedal on ebay for $96. Pro 1 -V* Bass Drum Pedal -Trick Percussion Products, Inc.-Where Physics Becomes Art |

That was until i had bought a pair of iron cobra felt beaters and placed them on. The pedal gives me alot of rebound off the bass drum heads. And it feels Excelent! "I'm now at 260 BPM" try it, it may not only help you to use less momentum with your feet, but also increase your speed. I played with sonic hammers for a while but they're crap to me now. |

Re: Axis Longboard Double Bass Pedal I've had the Axis XL2 about four months now. Up to that point I've played single kick pedal for the past thirty two years. What I've found out about these pedals is that they respond to every movement your feet make. They are very smooth and light to the touch. If you think your feet are fast now, try an Axis and they will be flying. The impact from the beaters is on the light side but with some practice you can get more volume out of them. I'll probably invest
in a pair of Danmar or Gibralter solid wood beaters to get more impact out of them. It helps also to tighten the springs as tight as they will go. I haven't had any breakage problems to this point, also I don't stomp on the pedals as hard as I can either, that just tires a person out to fast. Right now I'm working on getting my left foot up to par with my right foot. Another thing I like about this pedal is that it has zero backlash unlike chain drive pedals. I very happy with my Axis, I'm glad I made the investment, I do not regret it. So get yourself one while you have the money to spare. |

Re: Axis Longboard Double Bass Pedal I don't own one, but I have played on the longboard.
They are the best pedals ever IMO.
Very responsive, smooth, and easy to get comfortable with.
Very fast too. Easy to blast out 32nds.
Amazing pedals.
Well worth the price tag. I you have the money. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
