Re: I'm looking for some new heads

No apologies necessary. It's is hard to type on any forum what your expressing. We are all sibling brothers and sisters here at the forum, and we all tend to misunderstand each other and that can lead into peeing into the wind contest when it gets out of control at times. We're all here to help out each other and exchange ideas. In the end we all get along just fine and settle our differences.
It's not the first time this happens and we all get it right in the end and that's why I call us all siblings.

Thanks and many blessings.

I have heard good things about Attack heads but have never tried them so I can't speak intelligently about them myself. They are a 2 ply, no oil, sound dampening head? If so they would be worth a try to control overtone.
Or as the Irish would say "undertone" if you tune them too loosely. Just messing with you Der.

I am glad you told me you were messing with me, I was going to crawl under my kit and look for that undertone stuff.

I believe the sound your looking for is on the clear heads. Don't get coated or ply heads.

You are trying to make a low end kit sound like a high end kit. I've had the same kit 6 years ago. I installed some after market internal mufflers on all the drums (except the bass) on the batter and resonance side as well, to get a wider range on the sound. That also worked for me and got good results. No matter what heads I used on the drums I knew I had control over them. There is quite a bit of work to install them but it's worth it.
Thanks a lot its great to hear from someone who has had experience with my kit. Are there any particular models of drumheads that you would recommend? I dont really want to have to muffle them with anything more than moongels or remOs. And do you think i should change the resonant heads?
