Re: Remo vs. Evans

Thats alright Phillie. I'm always curious to see what people think.
Thats the responce I usually get. "Go by ear, not what you think looks better."
I understand that. But I usually want to clear up things or find some stats.
No hard feelings.

Re: Remo vs. Evans

I was a pinstripe guy for many many years and never even tried another head. I was very pleased with the durability and the sound of the Remo's. I just recently tried my first Evans heads and I must say the sound quality is better than the pinstripes. I have not abused the Evans heads yet as I haven't had enough time behind them, but I will!

Re: Remo vs. Evans

I've had Pinstipes for a good few months now and I must say I am very impressed.
maybe I'll try both Pinstripes and Evans on my next kit.
Do you have them coated, Der?
P.S. The beating marks give the drum charactor unless they are SO valuable you can't touch them.
So get behind them ASAP!!! just messin with you.
get there when you have the time.

Re: Remo vs. Evans

The only coated head I use is the snare batter (ST Dry), the rest are clear (and it was the same when I was using the pinstripes).

Re: Remo vs. Evans

Same here.
Coated tom heads actually wear down quicker than clear ones.
I might change up my heads on my next set. Maybe to evans or Aquarian for
kick.

Re: Remo vs. Evans

Well for argument's sake I am going to say that Evan's heads are definately my choice and that is just because I have played on them for so many years and have gotten amazing sounds out of them with my drums.

Everyone has they own preference, phillie.
Although, Remo is winning.
Just messin....
I've just heard that they are about the same so I figured,
why not put them against each other? See what these experienced drummers
think? Wouldn't you?
