Tom hardware buzzing
I have a Premier 7 piece drum set and the all of the toms have isolation mounts. The two floor toms are 14x14 and 16x14. When I hit either of them, one of the screws buzzes. But when I lift up on the mounts, they stop buzzing. How can I fix this?
Thanks,

Re: Tom hardware buzzing When you say the screws buzz, are you talking about the mounting crews or the tuning screws? The mounts may need tightening. If that doesn't work remove the heads and check the inside of the drums for any loose hardware.
Let my know if you find it, because I'm really curious about this. |

Re: Tom hardware buzzing I actually had a set of Tama Rockstars that buzzed uncontrollably. Turned out a screw fell out and was just rattling in the drum. could be something loose, or maybe one of your toms is reacting with your snare wires. |

Re: Tom hardware buzzing There was buzzing in my snare for a while.
I checked inside and there was a screw inside I had to remove.
after, the buzzing stopped for a while.
But it started again.
I realized that when I hit the toms, the deep sound and bass of the toms
made the snare wires shake and hit the top of the reso side head on the snare
making it shake.
Try tightening the hardware.
The screws could be rattling inside the lugs and need a nice tightening. |

Re: Tom hardware buzzing I thought it was a screw loose inside also. I readjusted the tom mount and it stopped. It hasn't come back so that must have been it. |

Re: Tom hardware buzzing Old Wise Man Saying:
"Tis better to find a loose screw, than a loose nut behind the drums".
For a loose nut behind the wheel, that's worse. |
