Re: DW 9000 single braced stands

I think all of the 9000 series hardware is double braced. Here is a link to the comparison chart at DW. Only the 6000 and 7000 series stuff is single braced.

Buy Sound Percussion SP880BS Double-Braced Boom Stand | Cymbal Stands & Arms | Musician's Friend

check out this stand I have 2 of them. They work as good as $70 stands I've used and they look pretty good too. All this is assuming your not crazy rich and only get the best there is

How big a cymbal are you going to put on it, and are you a heavy hitter?

I only "broke" all ready broken cymbals, so I don't know about hard, though once it starts to break its easier to break.

Re: DW 9000 single braced stands

The 7000 is a nicely built series with features you wouldn't be able to get from someone else's single brace line. The china and crashes would be the only place you could potentially have any trouble because they tend to be higher above the set than a ride is.

If you have access to one I would put a crash on it, raise it up to where your crashes are and hit it harder than you normally do to see what happens. If they seem stable then I would go for it.
