snare hardware

hello everybody. I have a problem with my snare strainer. Somehow I loosen up the bolt strainer too much and now I cannot make it work. I put it back on and I tightened it but somehow the bolt that raises or lowers the whole piece doesnt work. I would be thankful if someone tells me how to put it back on or if there is any article on how it assemble it.

Re: snare hardware

Have you loosened the other end and dropped the bolt back into the assembly then tightened?

Otherwise, you may need to take the whole thing apart, which shouldn't be too hard.

Re: snare hardware

hello again. Thank you for the help that you provided me. About the strainer, I almost threw it in the garbage but I had the idea of taking apart. I did so and then put the wire, I dont know what its called but it looks twisted, I guess its called spring wire. Well I decided to put it inside of the throw off and attach it to the bolt. I began to tighten it and next thing I noticed, it was working perfectly like before. I couldnt believe it but it works now. The wire was at the wrong place!!!! but thanks again for your help.

Re: snare hardware

That's what this forum is all about. Drummer helping drummers as siblings.

I'm glad to be of service.

YouTube has lots of information concerning drums and techniques as well.

Good luck and happy drumming.
