Remote hat transportation

Howdy y'all.

My good friend Trom is selling me his eliminator cable hi-hat stand. It's due to arrive any day now, but I'm a little concerned about how I'm gonna move it around for gigs.

I've become aware that denting the cable will result in unplayability but I very much want to be able to put it in my hardware case with the rest of my gear. I also understand that the cable cannot be easliy removed.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I should be packing this thing without busting my cable?

Re: Remote hat transportation

Get a molded carrying case.

Many companies make them.

They are more durable than they sound, but if something like a stand were to land on it just right you may have a problem. I know for a fact it isn't going to be fun if you need to change that cable, so beter safe than sorry.

I would take Jim's advice and get a molded case, that way there is no question.

Re: Remote hat transportation

Do you mean companies make them specifically or would I have to find a company that would custom make one?

I'm considering sectioning of a corner of my hardware case with pine for it, but I'll wait 'til it gets here and I have the dimensions.

Re: Remote hat transportation

In my brief look across the net I didn't see any cases made specificly for a remote hat. I was thinking something along the lines of a tackle box or tool box would be perfect.

Re: Remote hat transportation

Maybe a round cookie can would do the trick.

The cable can then be coiled without the chance of it getting kinked.
