Any suggestions for a good beginner pedal for the bass drum around $50? Is there such a thing?

There are $50 pedals out there but they won't hold up well.

This is the cheapest pedal of decent quality I could find after a quick search of new pedals:

Pearl 900 Series

It is 19 bux more than your target price, but is good quality and will serve you well for years.

This is over your budget too but it's a great pedal and it will hold up a long time. Der Trommler's pick looks good too, you'll be glad you spent a little extra on the pedal, these two will last you a lot longer then a cheap off brand pedal that will break easily.

This is actually a nice pedal.
Don't listen the bad review.
I own the 650 (which is $100)
and while I was shopping for a pedal for my new kit, I came across this one.
It was really responsive, very smooth and fast.
You will be very happy.

Pearl Eliminator look it up on e-bay it's more than $50 at Guitar Center or any store you might get a deal at e-bay, the pedal comes with 3 cams to adjust speed, I've been using it for about 7 years it's worth the money.
