Mounting Roto Toms

I have (I believe) about every Remo Roto Tom size know to man....

which doesn't mean sh*t if your not using them....which I'm not....YET!

Anyway, please folks....share your pics/ideas/suggestions about the most efficient, or sturdy way of mounting or attaching (or whatever you want to call it) roto toms to you kit/set...???

Or if Roto toms ARE your only kit (set) of drums....let me know....cool, thanks

p.s.

anybody using the new(er) Gibraltar 'Stealth' set up for something like this???

Re: Mounting Roto Toms

I have also had my fair share of problems in trying to figure out the best mounting method for Rotos. There is a special stand that Remo manufactures, I believe, specifically for the product - and drummers tend to place them directly behind their rack tom(s), angled more promptly toward themselves.

I apologize if this does not help. Your inquiry seems a bit indirect.

Could you possibly elaborate a bit, or refer me to a picture or document that can?

Re: Mounting Roto Toms

We've had a couple of guys on here with roto kits. I'm sure if you search here or on YouTube you'll find some helpful info.

I've got a set of three that I don't use anymore. They were mounted on my Dr80 rack to my right above my floor toms. I've since upgraded to electrics for my effects.

Re: Mounting Roto Toms

Yeah Remo DOES have that little stand and attachment thing...No this works good for the '3' basic roto's (6,8,10"), but for the others...12",14",16",18"...that's my dilemna.

I also use electronics for a bunch of effects, but I'm also looking to use the rotos in a seperate 'customized' set....

so, the search continues....

Yo Skinslapper....Perth!, cool man, my wife went to grad school there....I've only been to Sydney & Port Douglas....I love it down there! It's summer there right now, correct?

You should see it in Chicago right now, it's like 20 degrees Fahrenheit with a foot of snow on the ground

Re: Mounting Roto Toms

Remo does make a longer model to accomodate the larger size's, but i don't think its quite long enough to accomodate 4 large ones. Tama used to make an adapter to mount them directly to their tom mounts, but that was a seventies thing and could be tough to find. A Rims mount may work, there are several companies that make after market rim mounts . Gibralter, and Pearl for sure. On second thought the rims mount idea sucks cause you'll have to tune from the base as opposed to the rim, unless you can get a rims mount that would mount to the lower stationary rim and I really can't think of any. I had already hit post when i realized the rims mount problem so "my bad"

Yeah man it's in the mid-thirties Celsius down here at the mo'. I put up fences for a living so I'm getting beaten by the heat, but at least not rained out.

Which school did your missus go to? I'm currently at Murdoch university and my wife works at the Uni of Western Australia.
