Re: Breaking sticks

About two years ago I met the drummer Zoro. He gave out a big bucketfull of his signature SZ vic firth sticks. Basically they are just a custom made 7A. I love these things. It's the only kind I buy. It usually takes a long long time for one of my sticks to break. I've learned the secret technique to save myself money, sticks, cymbals, and drumheads.

Re: Breaking sticks

The angle on you cymbals as many have mentioned is key. Hacking your sticks up on metal wears them out, so look at the wear on them and see if your cymbals are doing the damage. I also use the Vaders and the work great.

Re: Breaking sticks

My browser does not find oaklandbeachdrops.com.

Is it by any chance "oaklandbeachdrums.com"?

Re: Breaking sticks

I break any wood stick i use. Boy was I glad when I stumbled on Ahead sticks, like mentioned above, they are a little heavier, because they're made out of aluminum and coated by a sleve of plastic, but they last so much longer. I still break one every once and awhile but 33 bucks plus 4ish bucks for a new pair of sleeves every once and awhile is cheaper than 14 bucks every other day.
