Re: dw pedals

by looking at it, i would say no. it is single chain drive, few adjustments, and it is priced lower than a 9000.

it looks pretty durable, though.

Re: dw pedals

The 8000 is marketed as the combination of the best features from the 5000 and 9000 series pedals rolled into one. I wouldn't say it is better than the 9000, just different. The 8000 has a fixed rotor where as the 9000 has a floating rotor.

Re: dw pedals

Spend that extra cash on the 9000 series.

It's worth it.

Re: dw pedals

if you need something more heavy duty than a 9000 then you are not treating your equipment well. it probably isnt too much of a difference if there is any at all.

Yeah, it's like Tide Detergent, the regular bottle is larger than the Ultra Heavy Duty, but you pay more money and get less water in it.

Re: dw pedals

If you manage to break a 9000 you are doing something wrong. I've had the same 9002 (double pedal) for over 3 years w/ no problems.

That said, I played the 8000 recently and it's an excelent pedal. It's kinda like the 5000 with a few extra adjustments.
