Headphones

Just got back from GC with a new set of Vic Firth isolationd headphones, and allthough they do isolate outside noise, "maybe to much imo" they are very tight fitting and almost uncomfortable to wear . They isolate so much that I really cant even hear my cymbals that well. I cannot return them as they said no return on headphones. What do you guys wear that seems to be a good blend of isolation for "hearing protectin" but yet still hear your drums ok and the music your playing to?

Re: Headphones

Buy Audio-Technica ATH-M45 Studio Monitor Headphones | Studio Headphones | Musician's Friend
I use these headphones. They dampen just enough so I can play my drums and hear the music as well. Also if you do any audio mixing these headphones are very flat so you will be able to create great quality mixes

Re: Headphones

I have a black panosic headphones, I canґt remember the model but the box said powerful sound XD. They isolate the noise to the point where you can hear the music and your drumming. Iґve only try this panasonics and sony HD sound (I dindґt like this ones) and Iґmґplanning on continuing using panasonic, althought those vicfirth may be better but you are saying they are uncomfortable.

I feel ya,I picked up the same pair of Vic's and I move one side just ever so slightly forward.....(play around with it and it will work, just not too much or why wear them at al)It works great and it is not any more uncomfortable or tighter than they all ready are.You can then hear your high-hats,cymbals..etc. Works 4 me.

Re: Headphones

I use a pair of Skullcandy Smokin' Buds. Even when I'm not playing, they reduce unwanted tones and make them sound alot better. But if you wanna go cheaper, before I used those I used a pair of regular ear mufflers like construction workers use, if you're not planning on playing to music that is.
