Ive been playing long enough and really dont need help deciding what to use but im curious what YOU use as a resonant head and why. I already know why i use what i do but this is one of my favorite uses of a forum.

Re: Resonant side tom heads.

I came across this thread, and felt a little bad because it was empty and lonely, so I'll be the first. I use Evans Genera... I forget the rest. There may be a 2 after the name. They're 2 ply anyway. I use them because my kit came with them on batter, REALLY crappy resos, so I went and got me some EC2s(good decision), and put them on batter. I think the generas are OK on reso, but on batter they're not very good. Come to think of it, I still use the crappy resos on my floor tom, and it sounds awfully awful.

I use Remo Ambassadors and I´m pretty happy with them; I use them because I think the combination between emperors and ambassadors rusel hehehe

Re: Resonant side tom heads.

Hey Resonut!

After about six months, I replaced the stock Evans G1 Clear reso heads that came on my TAMA's with the Aquarian Classic Clear (Snare, Toms) I use the Aquarian Super 2 on the batter side.
(One of the other posters, Drumn00b would be referring to the 'Evans Genera G2' on the batter side.) I chose the Aquarians after talking to my music store drum guru concerning head construction. The rims/rings on those Evans heads seemed so flimsy compared to the Aquarians. Made sense to me, so I tried 'em. On my TAMA Starclassic Performer B/B's it seems the Aquarians are alot easier to tune, will hold the tune longer, and the combination of the Classic Clear reso with the Super 2 batter really brings out the tonal quality of my set.
