Wink Special Hi hat stand

Hey forum!
I have an idea for a hi hat stand. Only I don't know if it already exists... it's for a stand that when you press the pedal DOWN it moves the hi hats UP. It would be really useful for double bass, I guess, if you want double bass and hi hat control. Also it would be a little more relaxing if you didn't have to keep your foot jammed on a pedal(not much more, but there you go). I'm sure it would take getting used to though.
Does anyone know if this kind of thing already exists?? If not, then should I suggest it to some company?

Get a patent first.

Just place a pivot arm between your bass and hi-hat pedals.

Kind of like a see-saw effect.

There are a few ways that I've thought of too(that's a good one, but it would be difficult to press, I think). Does something like that already exist? Should I recommend it to someone?
P.S. how do I get a patent?

Make the design. Then go to a patent office. Throw em some moneys. Then its yours! It sounds like a good idea. So when you make the plans. Test it and make sure it works so that its the best it could be. That way the companys can't change it and get around your paten. (I'd buy it)

Re: Special Hi hat stand

Personally I use a lot of double bass with the hats open so that wouldn't work for me although if you had a system where you could lock the pedal down with say a toe button up near the top of the pedal and kick the board to release, I would be all over that. I'm currently using a drop clutch, but with the hats only being a little open to begin with, I can't play too hard or they open up again. Plus if the footboard could clamp them down with a rachet style assembly, you'd get more control over the sound.

Re: Special Hi hat stand

Slapper, I think that a trigger system would be too inconvenient to use while playing(though it is a great idea). If you're playing fast, and you just want to raise it for only one eighth note or so, then you don't really want to be fumbling with lots of hardware. If you want it open, I guess you could lift up the hi hat manually.
It would be easy enough to play without double bass too, but once again, take some getting used to.
