Direct Drive System for Tama Iron Cobra Pedal

Hello everyone, My name is Preston Hadley. I am a new member of this forum. I have been drumming for 10 years now. I have played for several years not knowing the incredible power, response and attack that Direct Driven pedals offered. I know as well as many of you do that the Tama Iron Cobra Pedal remains one of the dominating forces in drumming technology. Im proud to present Stomp Drive, a company that retro-fits traditional chain-driven drum pedals with Direct Drive Systems. Our first and upcoming product featured is The Stomp Drive (Iron Cobra Power-Glide) Direct Drive System *Patent Pending*. We do not resale Iron Cobra Pedals, we have developed our retro-fit product designed to attach to your existing Iron Cobra Power-Glide Pedal.
You will have the choice of either The single or double. The single will be for our single pedal players, and of course the double is for our double pedal players. We have these both currently in stock.

Our Checkout is Secured!

Single : $49.95 + Shipping & Handling(For All), Tax(Indiana Only)
Double : $99.95 + Shipping & Handling(For All), Tax(Indiana Only)

The Stomp Drive (Iron Cobra Power-Glide) Direct Drive System*Patent Pending*, is a 3 segment solid aluminum link between the pedal axis and the foot board. The link is assembled with 2 bearings, giving you better control over power, attack, and response. The Stomp Drive Direct Drive System allows no slack between the pedal beater and the foot board. This product replaces your traditional Iron Cobra chains.

Features
  • Solid Aluminum Link
  • Bearing Driven
  • Black Anodized Coating
  • Mounted with original Pedal screws
The Stomp Drive Direct Drive link is a great alternative to more expensive pedals that are already Directly-driven, such as the Pearl Eliminator Demon Drive.

Thank You, Drumset Connect

Well.

I'm saving for college expenses.

A Stomp Drive is not in the purchasing plan at the moment; looking for marching drums CHEAP.

WOW!
That looks really nice! Looks very smooth, clean, and innovative.
They look beautifully crafted too.
Does it eliminate lag made from chain driven systems?
I heard that either strap, belt, or direct drive systems do that, but I can't remember though.
The system sounds very nice, and do you plan on making systems like that for different pedals? I think the Iron Cobra is an excellent place to start. Very popular pedal.
Good Luck with this in the future, and I hope to see more designs!

Re: Direct Drive System for Tama Iron Cobra Pedal

Thank you. They are machined aluminum. Lag as in slack. Yes there is no play between the beater and the foot board. Chains, and straps allow the pedal board to get out sync with the beater. Which causes errors in playing missing beats. not a consistent amount of power. with a direct drive , it is that exactly. It is directly driven no slack, no play, no variance. Strap, belt, and chain are the older methods. Direct drive is the future in drum pedal technology it is without doubt amazing, i played my Chain driven IC's for 10 years. Now I have a pair of our very own Stomp Drive (Iron Cobra Power-Glide) Direct Drive System on my IC's it is an amazing feeling of power and comfort. I have never had that much precision control in my life on a drum pedal. And what makes it even better is the pedal. The Iron Cobra pedal was built for power using its large cam design. That large cam design + our Direct Drive System gives you the most power, response, and attack you may have ever felt on a pedal.

Yes we are currently in the designing stage for the DW 7000.
But we also are going to do whatever pedal is the winning vote on our website. Which currently is the Pearl Eliminator chain driven. What we are going to do is take the chain driven model and retro-fit it with direct drive. Thank you, we thought so as well. Thank you again and again.

Re: Direct Drive System for Tama Iron Cobra Pedal

It's great that you're making more systems for more pedals.
It will definitely attract more buyers for the systems.
But I only have Pearl's 900 double pedal. So thee isn't a system for that.
The 900 uses a single chain cam. Is the Stomp Drive made for double chain systems only? If so, I think you should experiment with single chain systems. Because making a single cam system could open a lot of doors for the Stomp Drive.
But If you can't for any reason, thats fine. just a little suggestion.
I wish you the best of luck with your designs. Have fun!
