Lol, I am I think, I just can't remember how old!

For some reason I thought it was the c on b from the 60's and early 70's that had no felt pad and the new ones did, but now I am thinking it is the other way around. Sometimes CRS is a bad thing.

Re: Superphonic help

Oddly enough, I think the internal felt dampener was de riguer for EVERY drum manufacturer up until the early '80s.

In fact, it wasn't until Rogers starting offering their external muffler in their 1976 catalog did anyone ever question the significance of having something pushing up on the head while the player kept pushing down on it. But I do recall Louie Bellson in a late '70s interview state that he likes the clean look of internal dampening.

But like, Betamax, Louie was eventually proven wrong by the sheer masses...

Re: Superphonic help

My old Ludwig 1959 Black Onyx Rock kit had built in internal adjustable muffling. Even the snare had them but not the bass. For the bass it was an internal strap type muffler.

What you need is some little Japanese woman to walk on your back giving you a nice massage.

If I did that, I would end up in a wheelchair. My wife is jealous.
