Re: Evans EC2 SST Indeed they do!
I use the G1 Clear resos and tune them using the Drum Dial and the recommended tensions for the tom size. If you don't have a Drum Dial then the resos (on my toms) would be tensioned less tight than the batter side.
BTW.. I highly recommend the Drum Dial as do others here for tensioning your set. Makes a complete tune go very quickly, and gives you nice even tensioning. |

Re: Evans EC2 SST I use the same stuff as Trommler. G1 clears and a DrumDial. Great sounds. |

Re: Evans EC2 SST I have a Gretch renoun kit, just got some ec2 heads, I have had the drum dial for a while, but trying to learn to tune by ear, 2 questions, anybody out there have the same type kit, and use the DD, what settings do you set them, 2nd reso snare side, it seems i only get a reading of about 75 on the dial, but the head is really tight, any suggestions? I guess I will go back to the DD, tune, then fine tune by ear |

Re: Evans EC2 SST I've always loved EC2's. They are sturdy, and can be tuned to a very wide range of sound. They will work in almost every situation. |

Re: Evans EC2 SST As long as you use the Drum Dial tensions suggested for each sized drum and drum type as a guideline you should be pretty close to a good all around sound. The Gretsch Renown is a very nice kit and will sound sweet with those EC2s. |

Re: Evans EC2 SST Gretsch? Did some say Gretsch. EC2's work great on most 45 degree bearing edges.
They don't do well with the 30 degree. That's a different animal altogether.
The tuning is much more sensitive. Like the intro to "Get A Grip", you hear a rumbling bass intro.
That's the problem with all these drum shops, they don't have a cross reference chart to recommend what heads go with what. They just want to get rid of their overstocks. |

Re: Evans EC2 SST I need to change all around, I have remos on now, so I'm thinking of Evans ec2s or g2s for the toms, emad for the bass, and either a power center reverse dot, or the ec reverse dot for the snare, we play classic rock, blues, and some lite jazz, which ones should I get? |
