Hello all. :)
I recently started a page called the Drum Network on facebook, and it's not doing terrible but it's not doing that well either.
I had initially gotten several bands to agree to hold contests on my page, and I got people to agree to participate as well.
And I'll still be doing those, but I just don't want to do it until I get more likes and I can't get more likes without sharing drum memes/pictures ect. because those help the page get circulated to the target audience.
But I don't have time to do it all alone.
SO, I'm looking for someone who would like to come on my page and help out as a content creator/admin who helps share things, talk to people, post videos, ect. so the page will grow.
You're welcome to promote yourself, your youtube channel or your band or whatever you have as much as you want (within reason, haha) and there are no strict rules.
If anyone is interested in helping, please let me know.
You can check the page out here and see if you'd be interested: https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-D...44678002299180
Thanks guys!
-Sage

PS. I created a similar topic a while back, and though this one is a little different, if the administrator find this post redundant, please delete the old one and not this one because this one is more current to how things are running now.
Thanks! :)

Hey everyone! I'm back (after a long enough time, I might add!)
I have gotten all my recording gear set up, I've refined my collection to a very usable selection, and I'm ready to produce quality-sounding drum tracks. That being said, I think it's high time for another friendly drum battle!
I haven't been around much recently, but last time I had a battle here (time signature battle) it was a lot of fun, and I THINK I've gotten better since then (hope, more like.) It's been almost two years, and I think anyone can join.
Some ideas for themes:
-In the style of your favorite drummer/drummers (ie. Bonham, Paice, Peart, Rich, Clarke, anyone! Mix and match as much as you want, as long as you specify)
-Another time signature battle, with mix-ups of 7-4, 9-8, 10-8, 5-4, and whatever!
-Simple set-up; that is to say, maybe just kick, snare, hats, and a crash/ride? Perhaps one tom
-Any other suggestions?

Everyone is welcome! Let's set a time, and contestants, and smack some drums!

How do you tune and muffle your bass drum for double bass playing? I saw a clip from a pro drummer who said he muffles the drum about half way with heavy pillows to give a hard surface to beat against. The sound quality is fixed up with microphones. I've got my drum stuffed to the hilt for practising. It really is easier to play that way. But it sounds like crap -- no tone or ring like I'd get from an open drum played with a single beater.

Hey Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and thought I'd say hey! I have been playing drums for about 15 years. On regular rotation around the circuit in Ontario, Canada and play casinos, festivals, etc. My kit is a Pearl Masters MMP kit in Black Mist finish. It was a 5 piece kit, 12,13,16 and 22. But I cut it down to a 4 piece because I have decided to ditch the 13 inch rack tom. What I would like to do is get a 14x14 inch floor tom to sit beside the 16x16 FT.

I am a Zildjian A custom guy. 14 inch hats, 17, 18 inch crashes, and a 16inch china trash.

Anyways, thanks for reading, and I"ll see you around the forum!

Hi Folks, been awhile since posting so I'm not sure if this has been covered before, but after playing drums off and on for over 40 years as a right handed player,my left hand is far superior to my right hand.I do not play open-handed,nor have I payed particular attention to developing my left hand over my right hand. When I break out the practice pad and metronome,my left hand is so much more agile ,smooth and fast compared to my right hand that it confuses me.Have I been doing something that unknowingly enhances my left hand?I constantly check my grip, work on rudiments like crazy, but ol'lefty just keeps on getting faster than my right.I'm not saying that my right hand is SLOW,just that the left is superior.whatever suggestions you all have would be appreciated.

This friday I'm doing a small show with some friends, who all play exclusively acoustic instruments. In the past we've played places where they can be micd so it's not a problem, but this show is a house show so no mics. I have a cajon as well, so I need to find a way to strip down my kit so that it can be played quietly and is smaller, or, I need t find a good way to adapt all of the songs to cajon rather quickly. I could really use some suggestions here! thanks!!!
