car stereo set-up

I am really into the adio deal in a car and I was just wondering if anyone else on here is as well.

I just took the old system out of my truck and put it into our grand jeep cherokee but it is going to change in the near future.

right now I have a sony xplode head unit with 3 pre-amp outputs, 4 alpine 61/2's 2 ways in each door, pushed from a 400 watt amp, 2 10" Rockford Fosgate subs with a 600 watt amp and a 2.4 ferad cap.

planning on upgrading to a 15" and 2 12" subs with somthing much bigger pushing them. not sure on the brand yet.

and yes I install everything myself. My wife does help sometimes with taking things apart or moral support

My favoret music with a big system has got to be korn they just sound great on a big system.

let us know what you got.

Hey full metal,
I have a 2000 Honda Accord and I replaced the stock stereo with a Kenwood head unit that supports mp3 cds. The sound quality is a lot better and it's stylish as well.

I still have the stock Bose speakers whcih aren't bad but I might get a subwoofer if I get the money.

thats cool do you know if it has any pre am out puts or anything like that, and I would try and hold on to the bose system at least until you blow one or somthing.

I'm not really sure what a preamp output is, but I do have an output cord that I plug my mp3 player into. Then it goes through the head unit and into the system. Is that what you meant?

The stock Bose unit is pretty nice which is one of the reasons why I wouldn't replace it. It has tweeters and everything.
