Primus....and the Legendary Les Claypool!!

Does anybody else like Primus? Les Claypool is a bass genius, Tim "Herb" Alexander is a fantastic drummer, and their guitarist is fantastic too. My personal favorite CD is "Sailing the Seas of Cheese," but I only have that and "Pork Soda." So do we have any other fans here?

Hell yeah!! I've got Seas of Cheese, Pork Soda, Antipop and one of Brains' drumsticks from the Antipop tour.

Herb is an awesome drummer, but I have to say I prefered Brain. He just pounds the funk right out of it.

I used to play with a bass player who got right into Les. We used to jam Tommy the Cat, Jerry was a race car driver, DMV, My name is mud and Shake hands with beef. That was fun.

Used to listen to them a lot, Seas of Cheese and Frizzle Fry were my favourites. My vote goes to "John the Fisherman".

Don't really listen to them these days, I find there's more miss than hit. Herb is great though.

funny story about my name is mud.
when that song came out I was still taking private snare lessons and I got that rythum stuck in my head, I started playing it and my teacher was just like what is that, and I really couldnt rember where I had heard it at and I kept doing it and not even realizing I was playing it just taping on the drum, it started driving him crazy and before he knew it he was doing it to playing that freakin rythum from my name is mud

it may not sound that funny on here but it was at the time, drove every one nuts for about a month.

Hey, I heard Les started Primus after being rejected from Metallicas post Cliff Burton auditions. Ring any bells Full Metal?

Yeah, I think he was instructed to start his own band as he couldn't have possibly fit in with them, but they have crossed paths since with primus covering "The Thing That Should Not Be" on the Rhinoblasty EP and James Hetfield appearing with James Martin on their Antipop record.

I don't like Primus, but Les Claypool owns. Definately one of the better bassists. If you like bass, check out Billy Sheehan, first time I've ever seen someone shred a bass.
