I saw the other thread about Christian drummers so I thought it would be interesting to see if there were any drummers hanging about who practiced actual religious drumming styles (African, Wiccan, Native American, other native/religious cultures) and not just adapting other styles to use for their witnessing efforts or defining themselves as a religious person who happens to be a drummer playing modern styles.

I am Taino, CEMI Arawak drumming is a bit of cutural blended with thousands of nations beliefs. For example, the Cemi belief is much much older that the Christian. We use hand drums and tamboles.
The Taino drumming culture extends from Tampa Florida all the way to Peru. A simmilar style of this drumming was also played by the Hoppi Indians from Colorado to New Mexico.

It's quite invigorating.
