Wounded Knee

On May 1st 2010 around noon, Three Black Hawk helicopters tried to land at the Wounded Knee burial site.

The U.S. Military has no business going into any Indian Reservation.

Does anyone have an opinion on this matter.

Re: Wounded Knee

Jimi you know as well as I do a burial site is a Holy Place and they should have known better than to do that. If no Attention is brought to this to the higher Echelon sad to say it will probably happen again unfortunately. Slingerland

Re: Wounded Knee

The last stand there was in the winter of 1972-1973.

Lots of people couldn't believe their eyes.

It was being televized but then the media attention was turned to The Water Gate Scandal.

Re: Wounded Knee

There is absolutely no good reason why the US Army is wasting our tax dollars landing helicopters on sacred ground, particularly if there was no emergency, and certainly not if this has been done before with the result being a huge outcry. Terribly disrespectful in my opinion. You don't see them landing helicopters smack dab into the middle of Arlington National Cemetary.

Re: Wounded Knee

They had no business on sacred ground. May they have made an emergency landing, they could have landed else where. At least outside of Wounded knee. So i see no real reason to land on a sacred site.
anything else happen there, Jim?
where they reported? I couldn't get to read the article.

Re: Wounded Knee

Hmm, not a bad Idea Der. Teepees and Huts right in the middle of the Arlington National Cemetary.

Infero, the U.S. has absolutely no business in any Reservation. This was a provocation.

When the Susquehanna River Dams were being built, it was brought up to the attention of the government that the bones from the old burial grounds were floating along the river.

Nothing was done.
